Snowboard Appreciation Day!

ITS OPEN SEASON finally!

IT'S all For the KIDS!

Highland Prospects hosted a impromtu Snowboard Appreciation Day with Canaan Valley Resorts 38th year in operation.

Our Hosts were kind enough to leave us one 20ft flat box to play on right down front. HPRO provided the High Ollie Poles, some boards to look at and one sweet board to demo.

While the "bumping" tunes from the DJ played, upwards of 20 riders were hanging out sessioning both features. A Quote from one Youngster was "this has best opening day ever".

This was my second day of the season and it couldn't top the POW opening I was fortunate to experience last Saturday at Snowshoe, but what last weekend didn't have was beautiful sunny weather, good friends, smiles all over the young riders faces, trash talking, and DJ tunes.

With an small Rail Jam that turned into a mere throw down of the young bucs and the old guy (me) went down at 2:00. Couple 50-50's, presses, 270's on to 360 cross and few variations in between where thrown.

The Ollie Poles proved to be a great fun but as the pole went higher the beatings ensued! My last slam of the day was trying to get over 4.5ft mark, rattled me loose for sure.
HPRO would like to thank the crew over at Canaan Valley Resorts; Lisa, Mike, Rick, Kevin, Dale and all others that made this intial event for us a great dry run for the rest of our events this year.

Leaf Peepers this weekend!

I love seeing the town of Davis busting with people. Carnie rides right in town, Can't beat it!

Last year I remember seeing a beautiful pink, purple and blue sunset behind the rides,(wishing for my camera to be with me) and pausing to take it in because it was such a rocking site.

We all know what it looks like with no one in town?????

So it is great to share our cool little mountain with others and to bring the local community out to be together.

Crunch Time is ON!!!!

The Grid is up, Garage door looks spectacularly trippy, dressing rooms almost complete, we are really rolling.....
not really we still have tons of things to do, but our morale is still high.

Jeremy and I hustling to get as much done before the shop opening weekend.

Sounds like we will be opening without a counter, that is still being built. Bummer yes but nothing to major.

Shipments are coming but until then......

So yeah, I suppose we have always been a dreamers. With big ideas and ambitions. Others would said these ideas were to cloud like pie in the sky type ideas.But we both knew these ideas were not just dreams they were in fact a reality that we know could exist. A shop were one could actually ask to speak to the owner and then in response hear, "well I'm actually the owner." A shop were it simply would not matter if one were looking to take a walk in their backyard or trek through the back country they would be outfitted appropriately. This a been our mission since day 1.

From the items we select to have within our store, to the advice to purvey we strive to always have our customers best interest in mind. A transaction is never fully completed until a customer comes back into the shop and tells us how much they loved their gear purchased from Highland Prospects. We all have to start somewhere and this is where we started.

Yes, I would say we have learned a thing or million over the last 3 years. But we have never lost sight of how much fun our jobs are and we hope our "fun loving" attitude continues to wear off on everyone who walks through our door.In June we will be moving from our current location next to the post office just a few blocks North to a much larger space. With our expended space we hope to be able to serve our customers even better. Customers, future customers, and everyone in between please remember the move, our business, the lifestyle we love so deeply would not be possible without you. We thank you so much for every purchase, making our business what community is all about. So please do speak up on ideas for the new location, products we do not currently carry, or how we can serve you better.
